Very insightful on David’s part! I googled “what percentage of people are normal?” 96%! How come we only seem to hear about all the abnormals? It’s easy to think that being normal is abnormal. I prefer to be in the normal group (and hope that I am!) NORMALITY RULES! Well, maybe not in politics…‍

My favorite part of the trip was seeing London with you guys through a new lens, like how kids explore a new city — everything was exciting and full of wonder. I really enjoyed catching up with you and reminiscing about the old days at WFLS. Surprisingly, I also had a great time sharing business start-up stories with Chris and finding a shared connection over the joy of spending time with our children while seeing new orders come in. It was also a lot of fun getting to know Kate and David. They are great kids who cracked me up with their riddles and jokes. You’ve done an amazing job raising them — they’re intelligent, curious, well-mannered, and full of character. I wish I could have stayed longer to play more games with them. I’m already looking forward to the next time we hang out again. Every moment together is a reminder of how lucky I am to have a great friend like you.

Thank you for sharing your heart. What wonderful memories for the kids as well! Such a treat to meet your old friend and to feel young again with each other. Sometimes our lives turn out differently and better than our wildest dreams in ways that we could never imagine. You had a journal’s worth of treasures to write! I’m glad you included a picture of Chris. I was beginning to think that he was just your imaginary friend! It will be interesting for you to compare London’s Underground to New York City’s Subways!

With the cacophony of the modern world all around us, it is a blessing to have the opportunity to “Be still and know that I am God”. Life sometimes forces us into these quiet times. Beautiful words from a beautiful part of God’s creation. Never take His gift of nature for granted. These family trips are the best gifts you can give to Kate and David. They’ll treasure these memories forever! It is always reinvigorating to escape the confines of urban life and escape to the mountains.

I enjoyed reading your update! I love the photo of your front porch, by the way, feeling like summer at the best moment. I’m currently reading 1984 and it’s mind-blowing. I read so slow that I can normally finish just one book per month… Now this month I’m taking it easy with my work schedule since the kids are still on summer vacation, I aim to spend more time reading. Maybe I’ll get to finish more books. Hope to chat with you soon.

J’adore tes petites anecdotes de voyage. Ils sont mignons et drôles, surtout cette phrase “I could tell you were speaking French! I just don’t understand it.” Hahaha. Mais vraiment, bravo ! Il faut du courage et beaucoup de pratique pour bien parler une langue étrangère. Je suis vraiment fier de toi! J’espère qu’à l’avenir, je pourrai faire un petit voyage avec toi aussi dans une ville francophone, profiter et parler français:)
